Jagger Leads List of Rock's Worst Actors, Men at Work Sued, more

Mick Jagger has topped a list of Rock's Worst Actors as published in Britain's Independent. Movie's cited included Performance, Ned Kelly and Freejack. Following Jagger on the list were Sting, Madonna, David Bowie, Bob Dylan, Roger Daltry, Jon Bon Jovi, Ringo Starr, the Spice Girls and Ozzy Osbourne.
You would think there would be a statute of limitations. Publisher Larrikin Music has filed suit against the group Men at Work, Sony BMG and EMI Songs Australia claiming that the flute part in the hit Down Under was stolen from the 1934 children's song Kookaburra Sits in the Old Gum Tree.
Sony and EMI are quetioning that Larrikin even owns the copyright to the song which was written for a Girl Guides (similar to the Girl Scouts) competition in the 1930's. The original songwriter died in 1988.
Eddie Van Halen married Janie Liszewski, his girlfriend of three years, on Saturday night in Los Angeles. Son Wolfgang was best man.
Paul McCartney joined Neil Young on stage at London's Hard Rock Calling Festival on Saturday. McCartney came out half way through Young's final song, a cover of the Beatles' A Day in the Life, to sing the central section of the song ("Woke up, got out of bed...").
Willie Nelson received the Maverick Award at the Maui Film Festival. Officals noted "He has the courage of his convictions, a willingness to speak his mind and the backbone to withstand the heat from those who take issue with his vigorous expression of our collective constitutional right to the freedom of artistic and political expression."Nelson's new film, One Piece at a Time, premiered at the festival. The film covers solutions to global problems.
Whitney Houston has announced the title of her new album will be I Look to You. Release is set for September 1.
