A new book will be out in August chronicling Led Zeppelin's final performances in the U.K. back in 1979. Then As It Was: Led Zeppelin At Knebworth 1979: 30 Years Gone has previously unpublished photos along with fan recollections of the August 4 and 11 shows. Look for it August 8.
Paul Weller has told Britain's Daily Star that his next album is coming right along and should be done in about a month. According to the singer, “It’s full of very short spiky songs, two and a half minutes, concise.”
Etta James is being sued by a guitarist who says that she hired him for her band and then backed out of the deal. Leo Nocentelli says that he had an oral agreement with James in February 2008 to play with her band for a tour that was to last a year. Nocentelli played a few dates at which point James fell ill. When she once again went out on the road, she brought her old guitarist back without even telling him. He is looking for $50,000 for breach of contract.

Al Kooper told the British magazine Word that he had a little voice in his head not to join the Rolling Stones. He was offered Mick Taylor's spot back in 1974 by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards but turned it down over fear of the band's reputation.

"I had this flash that said, 'Don't do it, you'll never get on with Mick and Keith musically because you're heading in a different direction'. There's the thing. There's the crossroads. If I'd turned left I'd have been a multi-millionaire Rolling Stone...and dead."

Loretta Lynn was inducted into the Colorado Country Music Hall of Fame Wednesday night in a surprise presentation by Governor Bill Ritter. Although her ties to the state are slim, the hall is "dedicated to recognize and honor individuals, living or deceased, by induction into the Hall of Fame, who have contributed to the advancement of country music in Colorado." We guess having a hit song played on a Colorado country station is all that's needed to qualify.
