YOU CAN'T NOT GET NO SATISFACTION

Chicago and Earth, Wind & Fire Record Together, May Go For Full Album

Posted 5 months ago
They've been on the road together for two separate tours in the last few years, so it seems natural that 70's/80's giants Chicago and Earth, Wind & Fire would take the next step and record together.

In fact, the two groups have already done that on a charity single that includes Chicago doing EW&F's I Can't Let You Go, EW&F doing Chicago's Wishing You Were Here, and the whole ensamble doing a new EW&F song, You. The group's are asking fans to bring three cans of non-perishable food or make a $3 donation for a download card at their live shows this summer.

That's not the end of it, though. Once the tour is over, there is talk of getting together for a full length album. Robert Lamm told Billboard, "Both bands kind of separately and together said, 'Wouldn't it be great to do an album together, so that's something that's just kind of flying around. I think the guys that write are thinking that could possibly be the next project."

Lamm also said the album "would sound big. It obviously has to genetically reflect where the two bands are coming from sonically and writing-wise, but I'm hoping that something new could emerge, something modern, something contemporary that the sum of the two bands is greater than that, so that's my fantasy of what it could be."

Between the two groups, they've had 26 top ten singles (19 for Chicago and 7 for EW&F) and 21 top ten albums (13 for Chicago and 8 for EW&F).
