Cat Stevens Runs Into Problems (Again) Getting Into U.S., New Orleans Fest Showing On-Line, more
-
Artist:
In a moment of deja vu, Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens) is having trouble getting into the United States. He was supposed to play small shows in New York and Los Angeles to support the release of his new album, Roadsinger, but will not be able to gain access to the country in time due to "paperwork" issues.
This isn't the first time Islam has had problems getting into the United States. He went through an extended fight a few years ago around the time of the release of his first comeback album.
The AT&T Blue Room is broadcasting a number of sets over the web this weekend from the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. The schedule for veteran artists:
Burton Cummings and Randy Bachman are playing 14 Canadian cities with part of the ticket proceeds from the tour going to the literacy campaign Canwest Raise-a-Reader.
A show by Los Lobos is one of the first concerts in Mexico to be canceled due to the Swine Flu situation. An upcoming show by Metallica is also in danger but has not yet been called off.
