Paul McCartney, Olivia and Dahni Harrison, Eric Idle, Joe Walsh, Tom Hanks, T-Bone Burnett, Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne were all on hand Tuesday as the George Harrison star on Hollywood Boulevard was unveiled.
Idle, who was a close friend, said "I asked myself, ‘What would George think about a star on Hollywood Boulevard?'. I thought I heard his voice, and it said, ‘It’s a bunch of old bollocks.’ "
Get ready! Antmusic may be coming back. According to Australia's Undercover.com.au, Adam Ant is very interested in mounting a comeback after seeing the ticket sales for Michael Jackson and Spandau Ballet.
A spokesman for the media company Outside Organization said, "We have had a couple of meetings with him and he looks in great shape. He is still an impressively handsome man and has clearly been working out. It is too early to say what will happen but there is a lot of love out there for Adam."
Peter Wolf has told Billboard that a new album, his first in seven years, should be out sometime this summer. Guests include Merle Haggard, Shelby Lynn, Neko Case and Larry Campbell.
Wolf described the album by saying "It's heart-felt type of music; it's just country, honky-tonk, hillbilly, R&B, blues, rock ... it all kind of gets whisked around, because I love it all. It's got the Woofa Goofa Mama Twofer seal of excitement."
So far, only two more J. Geils Band reunion shows have been scheduled on April 24 and 25 in Detroit.
Reba McEntire's new single, Strange, which she debuted on last weeks ACM awards, is set to become the highest debuting record of her long career. It will premier at number 39 on next week's Billboard Country Singles chart.
The Flaming Lips and Los Lobos have been announced for the April 19 Earth Day celebration in Washington.
