McCartney & Starr to Record Together?, Townshend (Finally) Gets Divorced, more

That infamous purveyor of information, the unnamed source, has said that Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr are ready to head into the studio. "It has been a long time since Ringo played drums on any of Paul's songs but they've decided they can work together again. They had a fantastic time in New York, and realize they still work well together. They're now getting together later in the year to work on some of Paul's new songs."

Pete Townshend and his wife, Karen Astley, will be officially divorced in six weeks after being married for 40-years.

While this may sound rather sudden, they have been apart since 1994 when he confessed to having an affair. Townshend has been in a long-term relationship with Rachel Fuller, with whom he has collaborated on the In the Attic sessions.

Billboard is reporting that a Frankie Beverly & Maze tribute album is in the works through Brantera Music Group which is headed by Beverly's son Anthony. They are looking towards an August release

Patti LaBelle will be inducted into the Apollo Legends Hall of Fame on June 8 by Mariah Carey. That night will also be the Apollo Theater's 75th anniversary gala with guests like the O'Jays, Anita Baker and Jamie Foxx, along with Quincy Jones getting the same honor as LaBelle.

Actress Connie Stevens, who also had a couple of chart hits, was given the American Spirit Award by the Caucus for Television Producers, Writers and Directors.

In the "No, I need to wash my brain now!" department, Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit sent a Tweet to Neil Diamond today saying “I am a huge fan of yours. We should do a collaboration - Neil Diamond meets my band Limp Bizkit. Sounds fresh.”

Please Neil. Just say no.

Look for Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones playing with former Nickel Creek member Sara Watkins on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon next Monday. Jones produced Watkins' album.
