It's Almost Summer! Time For Another Beach Boys Compilation
-
Artist:
In the world of repackaging music, nobody has done more than Capitol with the Beach Boys' catalog. Every year or two, a new compilation is released and 2009 is no exception. This year, it's the 20-track Summer Love Songs which will be in stores and on the digital services on May 19 (May 18 internationally). Not wanting to make this a total rehash, Capitol is including three tracks in stereo mixes for the first time while three others get new stereo mixes. Two of those, Don't Worry Baby and Why Do Fools Fall in Love, have been created from newly-recovered analog multi-track masters that went missing from the Western Recorders studio in Los Angeles after they were first recorded in the mid-1960s.
There is also a rare track, Fallin' in Love, which was recorded by Dennis Wilson while the group was in the studio for Sunflower (1970). Out-of-print in the U.K., the song has never been released on a U.S. album.
