Bon Jovi is ready to chronicle their long career in both book and film. Bon Jovi: When We Were Beautiful will be released by HarperCollins this fall at the same time as a documentary of the same name.
A press release from the publisher said, "The book offers unprecedented insights into the members' lives on stage, on the road, and at home, as well as intimate reflections on the highs and lows of their 25 years together."
Simply Red had to cancel its appearance on a Brazilian TV show after a plane carrying lead singer Mick Hucknall had to make an emergency descent from 35,000 to 5,000 feet. Physicians told Hucknall to rest so his ears and throat had time to recover, but the group's three shows later in the week are scheduled to go on as planned.
The Flaming Lips' Do You Realize? has been named the official song of Oklahoma. The track was chosen by popular vote after residents narrowed a field of 454 nominated songs to ten. Realize beat out the likes of Heartbreak Hotel.
Dennis DeYoung of Styx has said on his website that the album One Hundred Years From Now is finally going to see a U.S. release in April. "Some of you may have believed that there was about as much chance of this CD being released stateside as America electing an African American president..."
Country's Ernie Ashworth passed away Monday in Nashville at the age of 80. Ashworth scored eight top ten country hits in the 1960's, including the number one single Talk Back Trembling Lips which spent an amazing (at the time) 35 weeks in the top 40. He became a member of the Grand Ole Opry in 1964.
