INXS Says Singer Was Not Fired, Cure Fans Will Get Tickets, more

J.D. Fortune is now definitely out of INXS. Last week, Fortune told of how he was unceremoniously dumped from the band at the end of their world tour. INXS' former manager and new record company boss Chris Murphy has called shenanigans on the former lead singer.

In talking with the U.K.'s Daily Telegraph, Murphy said "Not only are we shocked by the claims, even the place the supposed incident was to have taken place is a mystery to the band." Murphy also said that he was about to call Fortune as the group had a new recording contract. "I guess I have no reason to call him now."

Concert promoters AEG and troubled ticket brokers Trinity Street have put together a deal that will provide the original tickets ordered and paid for by fans of the Cure for their February 26 London show. For the last week, it had looked like those fans would lose their money.

An AEG statement said, "New tickets will be despatched to you on Monday, by registered post... We would like to take this opportunity to offer our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience that you may have experienced."
The Father of Country Music, Jimmie Rodgers, was the first person to receive a star on the Mississippi Walk of Fame in Meridian, Mississippi.

At the presentation, Marty Stuart said "All of us who play and sing country music from our hearts stand in his shadow, and those who have gone before us – like Gene Autry, Ernest Tubb – acknowledge him."

Van Morrison will be music guest on the premier of the new Jimmy Fallon late-night chatter on March 2.

Gary Lewis is submitting to DNA testing for a woman who claims she is his sister and the daughter of Jerry Lewis. Results of the test will be announced next month on Inside Edition.
ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons has provided guitar and vocals to a track on the new album by Russian metal band Pushking.

The groups new album, Duets, features 19 of their songs rerecorded with guest vocalists, including Alice Cooper, Paul Stanley (Kiss), Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple), Joe Lynn Turner (Rainbow) and Ian Gillian (Deep Purple).
