Men At Work's Ronald Strykert Arrested

Yesterday we reported that Men at Work guitarist Ronald Strykert had been arrested for making criminal threats against the owner of a house that he used to own.

More information has been released on the arrest and it is being reported that the criminal threats were against the group lead singer Colin Hay. According to the L.A. Times, Strykert threatened to kill Hay in December of 2007 and the February 13 arrest was for an outstanding bench warrant from the incident.

L.A. County Sheriff Steve Whitmore said on Wednesday that Strykert originally made the threat against Hay over the phone from his home in Bozeman, Montanna. The police sent Strykert a letter demanding that he appear in Malibu court on May 30 of last year, but the guitarist did not show. At that time, the bench warrant was ordered.

Strykert has denied making the threat and, while Hay says the incident ocurred, he did not believe the guitarist would carry through.
