Kitaro Live in America

Posted 12 months ago

[Live New Age Music Part 4] An artist with several incredible live albums in his catalogue is the one and only Kitaro. I enjoy Live in Yakushiji (2002), Enchanted Evening (1999) and In Person (1992), but I hold Kitaro Live in America (1991) to be the best. The first track out is the high flying synth song Cosmic Love , with a very nice guitar part in the end. Matsui , track two, has an extended drum segment in the middle. It is not hard to argue that Kitaro's Silk Road is one of the most beautiful new age songs of all time. You'll find it on all his live albums, and the version included here is simply breathtaking.

The 11 minute long The Light of the Spirit starts slowly and steadily builds up to a powerful part that lasts for almost 9 minutes. Koi also has some of the same feeling of both greatness and melancholy. I must also mention that the flutes and violins on the song Nageki are beautiful beyond words. Kitaro Live in America is indeed one of the finest live new age music album. There is an audible atmosphere on all tracks, a proof that Kitaro's music is live music. Available on Amazon and other music outlets.
