Winter Has Finally Come

Enya's new album, And Winter Came , is now out both in the US and in Europe. With more than 70 million album sold and four Grammy awards, the expectations for Enya's new album have been high. My first impression is that And Winter Came is like an early Christmas present to all her fans; a white, dreamy album with a sound that is both cold and warm at the same time. In this nicely wrapped present are both carols like O Come O Come Emmanuel - and happy Christmas melodies like White Is In The Winter Night . Enya's singing is beautiful as always, and the synth strings sound just right. It is far from original, but I can't blame Enya for that; Christmas is about traditions. Right?
