WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

More Underground Favorites! (Round 2)

Posted 4 months ago

Last time I did a post full of old underground hip-hop songs, part of the reason was just to bring some of my personal favorites to the surface so they didn't get lost in my iTunes ocean that's constantly overflowing with new music. To my surprise, it was very well received. Cool. Do it again, right? Right. Here we go. If you missed Round 1, click here.

Sidenote: I'm trying fileden on a few of these songs. Hoping Hype M picks it up. Also hoping it works.

Amplive vs. Radiohead - Nude (Amplive Remix) | Box.netTypical Cats - Cliche | FiledenQwel, 1/4 of Typical Cats and the only emcee who goes in on this one, is one of the sickest lyricists, period. Whether he's on some deep abstract shit or straight punchlines, he's got a stronghold on the language.
Typical Cats - Any Day

Note: This Typical Cats self titled album is one of the best hip-hop albums that most people haven't heard of. Chicago trio of emcees Qwel, Qwazaar, and Denizen Kane. Jazzy beats provided by DJ Natural. Good shit.

Abstract Rude - Stop BitingAesop Rock - Daylight | Fileden"Daylight" is one of my all time favorites. Something about this song...
Deltron3030 - Mastermind |FiledenFelt (Slug from Atmosphere + Murs) - Dirty Girl | Fileden

Felt 3: A Tribute To Sarah Palin coming soon!

J-Live - Satisfied | FiledenJaylib (Madlib + Jay Dilla) ft. Quasimoto - React

People might not be down with the Quasimoto helium laced voice, but this beat is nuts.
