Kraftwerk Takes Copyright Case To High Court, Lose

Legendary German electronica group Kraftwerk were dealt a blow yesterday by their very own high court. The group were apparently suing rap producer Moses Pelham for sampling two seconds (thats right ladies and gentlemen. TWO) of thier 1977 song Metal on Metal.

    i often wonder about the legality of sampling/remixing Kraftwerk music.  i hear it done so often that i was starting to think that Kraftwerk just didn't mind.

    i wonder if this is the same rapper i heard bumpin out of a black SUV in San Francisco yesterday.  i just about flipped when i heard it and was hoping to find out who it is.  it sounded like the album of Kraftwerk tunes that was recreated for boom boom cars (they called it BassKraft or something like that) but with some sweet rapping on top.  def gonna have to look into this....
