The story of Kamaal The Abstract goes like this; Back in 2001, Q-Tip AKA Kamaal Fareed recorded an album by the name of Kamaal The Abstract but his then label Arista deemed it 'too uncommercial to be released' and was therefore disregarded and never fully made available (though promo singles from the record were released by Arista).
