Best of 2008: cover songs

Artist:
Yes, yet another list. But after this I think we're going to start hitting the big ones.
Everyone loves covers. It's just not civilized to not. So if you haven't heard these, you really should.
Best covers of 2008 :
10. Patti Rothberg - "Gigantic"
Almost a dead-on Kim Deal impersonation.
9. Gutter Twins - "Down The Line"
Dulli and Lanegan take on Jose Gonzalez.
8. Portastatic - "Oh My Sweet Carolina"
Almost as gutwrenching as the Ryan Adams original.
7. Mark Kozelek - "Celebrated Summer"
The former Red House Painter takes this Husker Du number down a few notches.
6. Nicole Atkins - "Under the Milky Way"
Her voice is strangely suited for this cover of The Church.
5. The Decemberists - "I'm Sticking With You"
A solid update on the Velvet Underground song.
4. Amy MacDonald - "Fairytale Of New York"
The Pogues' Christmas classic get a fine rendition.
3. Lucinda Williams - "It's A Long Way To The Top (If You Want to Rock N' Roll)"
AC/DC sounds good as a country ballad.
2. Glen Campbell - "Sadly Beautiful"
The Rhinestone Cowboy does a good job with this haunting Replacements number.

1. Amie Miriello - "Disarm"
I was still sick of this Smashing Pumpkins tune until I heard Miriello sing it.
