Tom Jones: 24 Hours- Album Review

Posted about 1 year ago

Somewhere along the lines Tom Jones became cool again. Maybe it's that the artists he inspired, such as Amy Winehouse, have taken his soulful style and brought it to a new generation of listeners.

However it happened you'll be grateful once you hear Sir Tom's new album 24 Hours (to be released Nov. 25th).

The record is chock full of groovy tracks and big booty-shaking rhythms that are irresistible to even the most hard core indie rock fan.

24 Hours represents the first time that the 68 year-old crooner has taken a major role in penning his own material. Of course, he has some high profile collaborators in Bono and The Edge who co-wrote and played on the sexually charged "Sugar Daddy".

Jones also turns in a touching vocal performance on his cover of Bruce Springsteen's "The Hitter".

The album was produced by the British team of Future Cut, the production squad that were responsible for artists like Lily Allen and Kate Nash. That should give you a sense of the modern soul sound of the disc.

Open your mind and give Tom Jones a fresh listen with 24 Hours . You will be very happy you did.
