WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

The Ultimate Westcoast Rap 90s MOG Playlist

Posted 2 months ago

I don't know about all the other moggers and MMN folks, but I wanted to put MOG's new all access music service to the test. So I had a shitload of fun over the last 3 days compiling the ultimate Westcoast hip hop playlist with the best songs from the 80s and 90s. I wanted it to be comprehensive and something someone could listen to and get a complete history of this subgenre.

I started with Death Row records and slowly tried to work my way outward.... The list is completely done by memory, I didnt use any lists or employ the help of any friends (although i probably should have.... would have been much easier).

I'm sure I missed some things .... but the best thing about it is the list is ever-growing. By the time its completely finished I'm sure there could be over 500 tracks. (I have a little over 300 right now).

You can see the list here: http://mog.com/playlists/5861

One thing I was pretty bummed about is "My Posses On Broadway" by Sir Mix Alot is not in MOG's system. NOOOOOOOoooOOOooOOO!!!! Thats a classic. I was also unable to find some Too $hort, Kurupt, and WC... but the overwhelming majority of what I needed was available.

Looks like they've hidden your list. Too much information for the world to know.

I didn't even know the all access thing had launched.  I only heard that it would be out by Thanksgiving.

I got the golden ticket, but I didn't know the service was available yet.  And I still can't see it.  Did you do something after you got the email?

so you got the golden ticket yet you still cant access the new MOG music service at all?

Or is it that you just can't see my playlist? If its the latter... maybe im linking the wrong thing

Both.  I see the link you your playlist, but when I click it, it just takes me to the mog main page.

Do I have to activate the service somehow?  I don't remember the email having any instructions.

when i first got the golden ticket email.... i was automatically logged into mog... i had to log out first, and then log back in...and then it worked for me.

Maybe that will be the case with you... i dunno. If that doesn't work you should send an email to tech support or soemthing.

    its a dope feature though.

So, do you have a new link up at the top?  How do you get into the all access area?

Yeah, I'm looking at the email now, and there are no instructions on how to access the feature.  I've logged out and back in multiple times since getting the email.  How queer.

Theres just a big ass box at the top of the home page. you type in the name of the artist you like and a menu pops up with all their music that you can listen to.

Okay, so if I type in "slaughterhouse" and click it, I go to the Slaughterhouse music lounge.  There, I can click on "songs" and get a list of all there songs.  If I click one, I get a page that has a 30 second clip.  I don't see a way to hear an entire song, or create a playlist.  And I still can't bring yours up.

I don't think the service is fully up and running yet.

you should definitely hit up tech support, because the golden ticket folks can use it. I've seen playlists from some of our users like RockNRollPimp, Cody B, etc etc. so its definitely not just me.

and if you had the service running.. when you type in slaughterhouse from the front page, a box would pop up with all their songs in it. and you could choose to listen to one individually, or to listen to the entire album without even going to the artist lounge.

Damn.  And here I thought we were all waiting for Thanksgiving.

    Hitting up tech support forthwith.
