In the name of objectivity and fairness I feel its only right that we also hate on the other London mayoral candidate, Ken Livingstone. This megalomaniacal alcoholic has been taking your dosh to fund pointless 'drives' for eight years now. his odd ideals concerning quote 'democracy' unquote involve changing the status of the GLC so that he himself is COMPLETELY UNACCOUNTABLE ie. he answers to no-one. Did I mention he's a known anti-semite and pushed his pregnant wife down some stairs at a party, and he has three/five illegitimate kids..oh yeah, and he drinks too much, can't forget that.

Livingstone has filled his cabinet with Trotskyite nutcases (point in case, head of TFL Peter Hendry, who is apparently paid more than the PM). Don't get me wrong, I'm down with left ideology but this is straight cronyism, and the hypocrisy of these politicians makes me want to be sick. It is a sad state of affairs when you have to consider voting Tory because you despise the current system so wholeheartedly.

Another bummer is the STV voting system that is the chosen electoral form that the elections will be taking. As it is a preferential system based upon individual candidates rather than parties the city is broken up into districts and second choices are redistributed according to your second choice. Meaning basically Ken is going to win...bollocks. We're stuck between a rock and a hard place, a vote for a more unpopular candidate, ie. Sian Berry of the Greens is basically wasted as it'll just go to the next choice, exercising your apathy doesn't help anyone either.
