Lost Chord

-Heads up, Bay Area. The Greyboy Allstars will be at the San Francisco Beer and Oyster Festival (sounds like a good time) on May 16th. On guitar for Greyboy Allstars is one Elgin Park, the pseudonym of  uber talented Michael Andrews.

-A well-written review of a recent Fleet Foxes/Blitzen Trapper show at the Crystal Ballroom in Portland. And pix that are about as dreamy as one would expect.

-Not only is humble jazz legend Sonny Rollins still alive, but at 78 years old, he's still composing, performing and actively trying to improve and hone his skills. Awesome. Those older brothers and sisters will haunt you for life:

I've played with all these great musicians allmy life, and so I know what to do. I haven't been skilled enough to doit all, but I'm on the path, which is why I practice every day, I'mstudying, I'm writing, I'm composing, I'm trying to find the lostchord, so to speak. And it's a wonderful thing because my interest inmusic is as keen as it was when I was a child, and so that's what I'mdoing, that's what I do. Also, I started out late, after my brother andsister were already musicians. So I didn't start early enough, and Ialways felt like I had to learn more, and I always wanted to improvemyself, so that sort of helped me along the path of practicing a lotand aided my search in a way.
