The Flaming Lips' site has a handful of random festival dates listed throughout June and July and then, after July 29th, their schedule dips off until a one-off show at a Country Club in Monticello, NY. One date that isn't mentioned is the one at Marymoor park. One reason that may be is because we just recieved the press release that was issued within the last hour. This also leads us to believe that new August dates may, in fact, be released soon.

For those unfamiliar with Marymoor Park, it is an open ampitheatre (hence, the "park") which has been hosting a summer concert series over the years. Last years' SP20 event, held to commemorate Sub Pop Records' 20th anniversary, was a huge success. Many of the events held their, however, are shows that have bills like "Counting Crows feat. Smashmouth" and other lower profile events. This Flaming Lips show should be a huge event and another opportunity to see the groups amazing live show outside and in their element, with a much more lax fire code.


If you go directly to the Marymoor Park website, you can read the following about the makeshift venue:

This event must fall under "culturally enriching". If you go to the site specifially focused around the concerts @ Marymoor, you will notice that the Flaming Lips date states that they will be playing "with special guests to be announced" but we have that information for you right now. The openers with be fellow Oklahomans (?) and frequent cohorts, Stardeath and WHite Dwarf

This looks to be more than promising.
