VH1 Classic will be showing filmmaker Glenn Aveni’s look at the major musical event of 1983 with a documentary that captures the opening day of the US Festival, including Mick Jones’s final performance with the Clash. Held in Glen Helen Park in San Bernardino, Calif., the festival’s first day — May 28 — featured top New Wave acts the Divinyls, INXS, Wall of Voodoo, Oingo Boingo, the English Beat, A Flock of Seagulls, Stray Cats and Missing Persons.
