The Allman Brothers Band - 08/26/1971 [zip file]

In 1971, the world was witnessing he Allman Brothers Band at the top of their game. The Brothers had just released their Live At The Filmore East album not only receiving critical acclaim but much praise from the fans. The band continued to tour extensively and continued to play at the top of their game night after night.
August 26, 1971 found the band in New York and performing at A&R Studios. The set list is pretty much standard for The Brothers at this period but the quality of this recording is outstanding. It’s a crisp soundboard that captures the energy of the band and the audience in a way that is usually rare for soundboard recordings. My personal highlights of this show are an absolutely face melting In Memory of Elizabeth Reed and a You Don’t Love Me which I can honestly say will probably never be topped. Duane slows the band down and eases them into Soul Serenade in memory of his good friend King Curtis who had recently passed away.
Folks, this is classic Allman Brothers Band at its finest. Grab this one, leave your mind alone and just get high.
