Dengue Fever delivers a heavy 60’s inspired Cambodian psyche/surf rock vibe – complete with Cambodian mega star Chhom Nimo on lead vocals – but this little package is something different. Dengue Fever Sleepwalking Through The Mekong details the band's trip to Cambodia and the vivid portraits of the shanty towns, landscapes, and people after the Pol Pot regime are amazing.

Although the area is more popular among backpackers and tourists now, it wasn't too long ago that culture and musicians were erased. Dengue Fever was the first band Western rock band was able to play in the country and while that is a big part of this film, part of the best footage is how the band interacts with the people. Sure, the new songs sound great but the documentary – filmed by John Pirozzi - is really a must watch. It's easy to forget how powerfully music touches people and this film shows that the Cambodian people and Dengue Fever never lost site of that.
