BOY GEORGE Guilty in English False Imprisonment Trial

Boy_George_guilty MUSIC NEWS - Pop singer, Boy George 's legal troubles continue, with word that the jury in Longon convicted him today (12/5/08) of false imprisonment of a male escort. The excort, Norwegian Audun Carlsen, 29, alleged that George restrained him with handcuffs at the singer's London apartment on April 28, 2007. Carlsen also accused former Culture Club leader of swinging a metal chain at him as he fled the singer's flat after a naked photo shoot. Boy George, 46, who was tried under his real name George O'Dowd, did admit that he handcuffed Carlsen while he investigated alleged tampering of his computer. George had claimed he thought Carlsen had removed photos of him that from the PC that were taken by the singer when they had met previously. Jury members saw photos of welts on Carlsen's head and injuries to his arm, which he claimed were due to O'Dowd. O'Dowd/George said he couldn't account for the injuries and did not testify for his own defense at the trial. The '80s pop singer has been released on bail after the verdict and will be sentenced Jan. 16. No mention of whether George's hit "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me " was performed in the courtroom... As you may recall, George had legal trouble in NYC two years ago, after he pled guilty to falsely reporting a burglary at his apartment, where cocaine was later found by the NY police ! He completed public service in NYC as punishment (see photo at left) .
