KAISER CHIEFS' Keyboardist Sidelined by Surgery

MUSIC NEWS - The keyboardist for the British rockers, Kaiser Chiefs , Nick "Peanut" Baines, will miss the band's LA gig tonight (11/11) at the Henry Fonda Theatre and Jay Leno Show appearance after having an emergencey appendectomy last Thrusday in Brazil. Under doctor's orders, the keyboardist has been forced to stay and rest in Sao Paolo after undergoing the procedure. Amazingly, Peanut was able to perform with the group at Sao Paolo's Planeta Terra on Saturday after being discharged from hospital. The group said on their website; "We didn't want to let LA down and it's going to be a challenge, but between Roger Lyons (Peanut's tech) and James Hennin (Simon's [Rix, bassist] tech) we'll deputise and make sure the show goes on! "It will be our first ever gig missing one of the band. Something unique for LA." (Mr ?) Peanut plans on rejoining the tour in Chicago on Thursday. The group, formed in Leeds, England back in '97 are currrently touring the world in support of their new cd, Off With Their Heads (on Universal) !
