DURAN DURAN Back for Round Two

MUSIC NEWS - Reunited new wave rockers Duran Duran (SIMON LEBON-vocals, NICK RHODES- keyboards, JOHN TAYLOR- bass and ROGER TAYLOR-drums) are putting out the "Red Carpet" for a another round of American shows to promote their latest cd. After a short South American run, the Red Carpet Massacre Tour moves up to North America with a November 28 show at Sports Palace in Mexico City, MEX, and then crosses the border for a December 1 concert at Majestic Theatre in San Antonio, TX. The short, thirteen gig North American tour ends on December 14 at the recently renovated Wellmont Theater in Montclair, NJ (NYC area).

Two Canadian gigs are also scheduled; December 9 at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, ON and December 10 at the Metropolis in Montreal, QC. The gang is still supporting their November 13, 2007 release,"Red Carpet Massacre ", their twelfth studio album for the group that released their now "new wave classic" debut back in 1981 ! Red Carpet, is the follow-up to their 2004's "Astronaut". To bring a new sound, music industry maven/produce Timbaland produced the album. Posted on their web site, singer Simon LeBon said, "When we sat down and listened to what we had done on our own, we didn't feel we had a lead track, so we got in touch with Timbaland, who was the only producer out there that we knew we all liked." "We have made an album that we are all really proud of, and we wanted to present it in a very unique way".
