MUSIC NEWS - Hardcore pop rockers Taking Back Sunday are currently hard at work recording a new cd, but the group promises to preview some new tunes on their upcoming US tour. The five-piece, who have been off the road for some time, will return to the stage on November 13 to help open up the new Club Nokia in downtown Los Angeles. Taking Back Sunday will officially start up the tour bus on December 3 in Corpus Christi, TX, and visit fifteen USA cities with opening act, Long Island, NY based, alt-rockers Envy on the Coast . TBS recently entered a New York City studio to record the followup to 2006's gold album "Louder Now " (Warner Bros Records) The currently untitled new album, produced by David Kahne (Paul McCartney, The Strokes), is expected to arrive next year. It's the band's first cd with guitarist and second vocalist Matt Fazzi, who joined Taking Back Sunday following Fred Mascherino's departure (to form Facing New York ) last year. "Matt has brought new life to Taking Back Sunday, a theme ever-present in the material we have been working on for the past few months," vocalist Adam Lazzara said in a press release. "He continues to give us a new perspective on how we each write and listen to music, pushing both himself and us to cross new borders and venture into new territories with our music. He is the push we needed to break through some walls this time around." "Louder Now," reached No. 2 on music charts, the cd was followed by the CD/DVD package "Louder Now: Partone," which includes behind-the-scenes footage, music videos and live-performance clips. "Louder Now: Parttwo" was released late last year.
