Former EVANESCENCE Member, DAVID HODGES, Plans Solo Album

Posted 4 months ago

MUSIC NEWS - Singer and songwriter David Hodges, formerly of Evanescence, announced his signing to Reprise Records with solo deal. The Little Rock, AR rocker is putting the finishing touches on his debut studio album for the label.   As a third of Evanescence, Hodges co-wrote such hits as "Bring Me to Life" and "My Immortal" from the band's debut Fallen, which has sold more than 15M copies worldwide. He also won two Grammy Awards — for "Best New Artist" and "Best Hard Rock Performance", in 2004 for his work with the band. After leaving Evanescence in 2002, Hodges went on to write and produce mega-hits for other artists including Kelly Clarkson ("Because of You"), Daughtry ("What About Now"), and David Archuleta ("Crush").

Hodges' desire to communicate and connect permeates the songs that make up his new album, which he co-wrote with a number of collaborators and co-produced in his home studio and the famous Los Angeles studio NRG. Nowhere is that spirit more evident than on "Hard to Believe." "The song doesn't say that there's light at the end of the tunnel or that there's a guarantee it's going to get better, it's just that you don't have to walk through this alone," Hodges says. Other tracks, like "How It Ends" and "It's Too Late," both address those pivotal moments in relationships when you wish you could start over.

More details about David Hodges and his upcoming album will be announced shortly. For more Hodges news, check out DavidHodgesMusic.  In other Evanescence news, Ben Moody and former American Idol finalist, announced their new band plans.
