MUSIC NEWS- Adding to his not a tour, "one off" tour of North America, Paul McCartney is coming to Atlanta for a summer concert to benefit the city's historic Piedmont Park and The Piedmont Conservancy. The Conservancy announced that the former Beatle will play an August 15 concert at the 10th Street meadow. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Monday, June 29th at 10am, but if you sign up for the Conversancy newsletter, you get a special code that will allow you to purchase pre-sale tickets. The exclusive, pre-sale tickets go on sale Thursday, June 25th at 10am through Ticketmaster at $79.50 per person.
Sir Paul's gig is likely to far exceed the 2007 event that had Dave Matthews Band and the Allman Brothers Band drawing 50,000+. Funds from the McCartney show will help maintain popular Atlanta park, located near midtown. The park originated as private club founded back in 1887.
