ALICE COOPER Forced to Cancel Russian Concert

MUSIC NEWS- Shock rocker, ALICE COOPER was forced on Friday night to cancel a concert in Novosibirsk, Russia, after the stage rigging collapsed. The "Monsters of Rock" tour features rockers Alice Cooper, Scorpions, Kingdom Come, and the Rasmus. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but band gear on stage was substantially damaged. Reports are the scaffolding on the stage at Spartak Stadium, where Cooper was scheduled to do an outdoor concert Saturday, The equipment that collapsed was provided by local equipment companies and no reason was given for the collapse, but the weather was clear and not likely a factor.The show was part of the European leg of the Alice's "Theater of Death" tour and won't be rescheduled. Fans were offered refunds, but were also informed that the tickets would be honored for a concert this week in Krasnoyarsk, several hundred miles from Novosibirsk. Nearly 12,000 tickets were sold, ranging from $32 to $260.
Alice Cooper is scheduled to return to the US for a two-week tour that begins at the end of July before heading off for a series of dates in Australia and New Zealand (see full itinerary below).
