THE DECEMBERISTS to Return to Colbert Report to Slug It Out Again

     MUSIC NEWS - Stephen Colbert and his musical nemesis, The Decemberists, will go at it again.  This, according to news on  Monday from the band that they will perform on  "The Colbert Report" (Comedy Central) on April 27 to promote their recent release, Hazards of Love .  If you missed their prior appearance, know that Colbert and the band were deep in a "mock" feud previously in 2006 when Colbert accused the band of ripping off his idea of a fan-created "green screen challenge." The feud culminated in a much hyped "ShredDown" which had Decemberists' guitarist Chris Funk competing with Colbert in a guitar solo contest.

Needless to say, Colbert claimed victory after the guitar battle.  Interestingly, legendary singer/songwriter/guitarist, Peter Frampton was also on the show that evening.
