STEVEN PAGE Leaves BARENAKED LADIES !!!

MUSIC NEWS - Singer/songwriter/guitarist Steven Page has announced his departure from the band, Barenaked Ladies. The development arrives four months after US drug charges against Mr Page, 38 were dropped. Page's arrest came after the band, known for its wholesome image and humorish lyrics, released an album of children's songs entitled "Snacktime" (oops, bad timing). As a result of his legal issues, the band was forced to drop out of some Disney-backed concerts.
On the band's website it said; " By mutual agreement, Steven Page will be parting company with the remaining members of Barenaked Ladies". Page will reportedly pursue solo projects, including theatrical opportunities. "These guys are my brothers," Page said in the online statement. "We've grown up together over the past 20 years. I love them and wish them all the best in the future."
You may recall that Page, his girlfriend and her roommate were charged with drug possession in July 2008 after police found cocaine at an apartment in NY State. In October, all three were able to make a deal with officials to have the charges dropped if they stayed out of trouble for six months.
The other members will quickly move on, returning to the studio in April and will tour this fall. "It's the start of a new chapter for all of us," band member Ed Robertson said. "Here's to the future!"

"solo projects, including theatrical opportunities." - is that a euphemism for rehab?
