MUSIC NEWS - Are you paying attention, label execs??? The Liverpool indie band, The Zutons have been dropped by Sony BMG/ Deltasonic. The band has apparently parted ways with the Sony crew over Christmas holidays. Their third studio album You Can Do Anything (June 08 release) charted at number six last year on the Brit charts. The group's first single off the record, 'Always Right Behind You' , peaked at 26, but follow-up 'What's Your Problem' failed to break the top 40. A source told the Daily Sun newspaper, "Expectations were unrealistically high when The Zutons came back from Los Angeles, CA with their third album.
"Valerie was being pumped out of every stereo around the world and they were totally being overshadowed by a song from their previous release." Prior top 20 singles from the group include 'Pressure Point', 'Don't Ever (Think Too Much)', 'Why Won't You Give Me Your Love' and 'Valerie' (which was also covered by Amy Winehouse ).
