Congrats Fucked Up!!!

Whenever a band named Fucked Up does something so high profile it is a little more special. Last night the band took home the 2009 Polaris Music Prize beating out high profile Canadians such as Metric, K'NAAN, Malajube, Great Lake Swimmers, and Chad VanGaalen, for their 2008 release The Chemistry of Common Life. Now you all know how I feel about this record so in my mind there wasn't even a competition but just to see a hardcore band with a lead singer like Pink Eye winning such a prestigious award warms the heart. If you're one of those folks that doesn't acknowledge music until it wins an award you have a great chance to see the record performed live and in its entirety!
