Blast from the Past: Cake's Comfort Eagle

At the moment I am hard pressed for time, but after missing last week's Blast from the Past I felt it was absolutely necessary to pump something out for my faithful readers to consume. So here, I present to a record that came out this decade with only a single song that I truly adore on it. I recently downloaded the whole album just so I had "Short Skirt, Long Jacket" on my iPod and it has sat on my iTunes playlist since completely unplayed.Looking at Comfort Eagle with 0 plays next to it is a bit upsetting to me. I genuinely like all that Cake has done throughout their career. When this record came out I played it to death and played the single even more then time then I care to recount, but at some point it faded into the neglected stack like so many other discs destined for the bargain bin. I suppose it was sad then as well, but now it just sits with no one looking for it and with me skipping past it every time I look for something else.
I guess I'll hit play, listen to it while I'm crunching out some boring reports, and hope that it will no longer look lonely on the playlist with just one listen next to it.
