Andrew Bird's new album "Noble Beast" which is going to be released officially on January 20. The album unfortunately for Andrew Bird leaked onto the internet on Friday. I don't know if the version that leaked was unmastered or if there is some other other story behind it but the new album sounds more stripped down than "Armchair Apocrypha". The pace of "Noble Beast" is much slower than the last album. From what I'm hearing it doesn't feature as many layers as the last album did. I only heard violins, guitar, drums and pianos on some of the track, but it is textured. The opener 'Oh No' which Andrew Bird has released since October features his whistling and violins. Upon the first listen my favourite track was 'Anonanimal' which sounds like it was influenced by Dianogah who he worked with on their 2008 release "qhnnnl". Other track that stand out from the 'Not a Robot, But a Ghost', 'The Privateers', 'Fitz and Dizzyspells', and 'Oh No'. The sound has more in likeness with "The Mysterious Production Of Eggs" than with "Armchair Apocrypha". I still haven't heard the bonus disc "Useless Creatures" beside 'Carrion Suites' which is on Andrew Bird's myspace . You can order the new album from Amazon .
