new brandi carlile live ep

brandi carlile , whose voice will send shivers of joy down your spine, is something special to see and hear live, which makes her recently released four song (and one video) live ep something to celebrate - not least for the smashing & spirited cover of "folsom prison blues". of the other songs on live from boston (which is an itunes exclusive), two come from carlile's excellent last full length album, the story , and another from her self-titled debut. all of which are remarkable in this context for the spotlight they cast on carlile's singing voice - again, surely the finest instrument at her disposal. (okay, the songwriting's not bad either - but, seriously, have you heard her sing?)
