the 10th annual power to the peaceful festival , starring michael franti & spearhead and ziggy marley, among others, will take place on speedway meadow in golden gate park tomorrow, saturday 6 september, beginning around 11a and running until about 5p. this is a free, and pretty neat, event, packed with music and art and dedicated, according the festival website , to educating attendees on issues of social justice, non violence, coexistence and environmental sustainability.

after the divisiveness, derision & ham-handed brutality, both active and oratorical, of this week's rnc, power to the peaceful presents a most welcome relief. so come down to the park tomorrow and check it out.
