So yeah, at this very minute I'm listening to Rex The Dog's new album "The Rex The Dog Show" and I honestly can't say there is a duff track on there. Uber fantastic and brilliantly executed electronica. If you're a fan of this blog, you won't be disappointed in Rex The Dog's latest album. Highlights for me include the tracks "Maximize 2008" and "Bubblicious" which takes a heavy sample from Yazoo that you'll enjoy immensely. Also we are treated to Rex's remixes of "Heartbeats" by The Knife and "Tony The Beat" by The Sounds . But my favourite tune on the album is definitely "Itchy Scratchy" - totally hot. A if I were to grade it like my nerdy high-school chemistry teacher. Go and buy it now - available on iTunes.

Sam Sparro asked his fans to design a t-shirt for his upcoming tour...and what was the winning entry...take a look. Nifty eh? I fucking want one.
Still haven't listened to Ladyhawke album. I can hear Adem With An E cursing at me now all the way from Australia. But I am happy to know that he's been converted into a Technologic fan.
Boogaloo Stu and his fabulous hair are set to grace the stage at the next Electroqueer@Barcode club night on 30th October! How very (forgive me, I watched "Heathers" again last night). We're working on getting some very special performers on for the next one too - so mark your calendars and let us know if you're coming on the Facebook page . It's a Halloweeny party, so make sure to get your freaky on. I haven't publicized it much until now, so stay tuned. Once we have more artists on the bill, I'll send out the official invites and such.
So what the hell is happening in Simon Curtis land? Well he pretty much is one of Hollywood's new young elite now - making red carpet and press appearances with his fellow gorgeous cast members from his new movie "Spectacular" in which he plays the baddie teen heartthrob (see pic above). I sincerely hope this means that a good record deal will be coming soon for Simon - did you know he turned down a record deal already? That's how fucking amazing his tunes are - he's in a good position to pick and choose which record deal he wants. I'll never forget earlier this year when I hung out with Simon and his best mate Corey in LA and they took me to their favourite pie shop. Simon and Corey ordered me the most amazing chocolate pie I ever had in my life...then they didn't eat any - something to do about abs. It was too funny - you had to be there. Now that he's set to be a big star, I can say "I remember Simon when..."
Tix for New Kids On The Block's UK Tour went on sale yesterday and once again, I wasn't quick enough on the draw - the show at the O2 is most likely already sold out (I'll be e-baying it). Lady Gaga is opening for the big boys now on their massive American tour, so let's just hope she decides to join them in the UK. I think it's quite humourous that the punchy Chartrigger even changed his tune about the New Kids album "The Block" after actually hearing it. If Chartrigger can get over the New Kids stigma, then so can you - so sayeth EQ.
The ever exciting announcement of Electroqueer Of The Year nominees for 2008-09 will be announced tomorrow. Who will join the ranks of Antigone (2007-08) and Darren Hayes (2006-07) and be crowned with this blog's highest honour in December? You might be surprised...
And finally, have you seen the new video to "Dull Flame Of Desire" by Bjork and Antony ? It's pretty wicked. Very experiemental too as it has three different directors which you can clearly see in the finished product. I love the ending too as you get to see what Bjork and Antony's faces would look like if they were magically merged together. Can't say they'd have pretty children though...but nevertheless, it's a mesmerizing video. I need to get back into Bjork again...I fell off her space bandwagon awhile back.
