New Cale Parks “Sparklace”
-
Artist:

Some might recognize Cale Parks from the great indie band Aloha or perhaps most recently as the live drummer for White Williams. I'm a big fan of White Williams and have definitely loved me up some Aloha in my time so naturally I perked up when I heard Cale Parks was releasing his sophomore album. His sound falls somewhere in between the two aforementioned bands - a slow Beach Boys dreamy pop mentality of Aloha and the unorthodox Zappa like approach White Williams brings to the table. Cale Parks' new album Sparklace , out via Polyvinyl , is full of long dark tunnels, dusty basements, midnight creek walking, digital solar systems, lithium powered lightning bugs, and inner city cab rides. It's a modest gem of an album that mirrors the inky frigid yet still bustling New York winter.
