The Cranberries will put an end to their seven year "break" and reform for an upcoming tour. All four original members will hit the road in the U.S. later this year. European dates are being routed for 2010. They also promise new materiel in the live set which will eventually lead to a new studio album.
Dolores O'Riordan had this to say on the band's official site:
"I've decided to reunite with my former bandmembers in The Cranberries and we will be writing new songs andperforming tracks off my new album as well as our greatest hits duringthe shows. I'd love to see you out there."
Interesting how the news breaks the same day O'Riordan's second solo album, No Baggage, hits the shops. Imagine that.
It's funny that during the band's heyday we never got into them. It was only years later that we sort of connected to a few of the songs here and there. Although, Zombie was always in heavy rotation. I think we ran that import CD single into the ground.
Exact dates are expected soon.
