Years back, 2001 and 2002 to be exact, The Dandy Warhols created an album titled The Dandy Warhols Are Sound in their hometown of Portland, Oregon. The guys and gal turned the record into their label at the time, Capitol Records, only to have it rejected and ultimately remixed and re-worked by said label. That reworked record became what we all know as Welcome To The Monkey House.

Now don't get us wrong, we are actually quite fond of the Monkey House record. The sexy romp of We Used To Be Friends, the gentle and seductive Plan A, and the insanely addictive nature of The Last High. This was a fun time for the Dandies - a strong, playful and rocking album, Taylor-Taylor sporting the ultimate mohawk, legendary live shows, and lots of great b-sides to compliment the singles.

With all of our love for this record, we can't help but let our curiosity get the best of us. We'd really like to hear what Courtney, Zia, Pete and Brent originally envisioned.

The album in its original mix is due July 14th via Beat The World Records; download, pick up the CD and best of all, spin the vinyl.

Great cover above. We are picking this one up on vinyl.
