A Guilty Pleasure: Jason Reeves

Posted over 3 years ago

For fans of Colbie Caillat's flavor of enjoyable lite-music, here's another guilty pleasure for you: Jason Reeves. In fact Jason co-wrote ten of the songs from her mega-selling album Coco, including Bubbly and Realize (which he actually contributed backing vocals to as well). Not content to ride on her coat-tails and reside in small print in the album's liner notes, he's released an album of his own titled The Magnificent Adventures of Heartache (and Other Frightening Tales). The wonderfully creative title is also quite an apt one as the album is one that is quite relationshiply centered about love, losing it, and all the crazy things associated with life that twenty-four year olds who aren't afraid to connect with their feelings think about.

As I led out with, in many ways this album feels like a male twin to Coco. Another musician he reminds me of is Matt Nathanson. Any way you cut it though, the album is a pleasant diversion. Check out the following tracks from that album - I won't tell anyone, it will be our little secret.

Visit his label Warner Brothers / Reprise Records and become his friend on MySpace.
