Last year's Clash-sampling, terror-ific "Paper Planes" found a second life this summer, thanks to Pineapple Express and a bunch of hot rappers. Maya tells Rolling Stone, "The way human beings hear stuff, it's like, suddenly a song sounds better to you because it's been in a movie." Sensing that we've heard enough shitty covers by now, Mad Decent recently declared the track dead. Of course, it is far from dead: Billboard Hot #100 has "Planes" at #9 (with a bullet?) and Kala gets rereleased with six bonus tracks next month. Among them is a remix of "Boyz" featuring Jay-Z.
