Fair enough, at this point you wouldn't be mistaken to think Dark Was The Night 's become an institutionalized month-long holiday (like end-of-the-year lists, natch), but the notable tracks keep coming, so it seems OK to continue rolling out the red carpet. This time it's New Pornographers ostensibly addressing Snow White, though like most of Carl Newman's lyrical turns, things aren't always what they seem. Well, the "hey Snow White, it's gonna be alright, it's gonna be alright" is for her, or whoever Newman's giving that nickname, but it's difficult knowing just whose company's going public and just who, in turn, needs to learn to love what they own.
