DeVotchka embarks on nation-wide U.S. tour

The Denver based band, DeVotchka, will began their full tour across the United States last week. DeVotchka will be spending the next two months on the road as they make their way from coast to coast before finishing the tour in Chicago at the end of March.

DeVotchka is the musical equivalent of the Island of Lost Toys; comprised of individuals with origins spanning the globe, each ingrained with particular cultural pasts. Using instruments to that effect, (a determined and eclectic United Nation-al junkyard of sousaphones, accordions, and bouzoukis), this diverse ensemble successfully blends a multifaceted folk sound, thus designing an ethnicity of old and new, creating a skeptical unlike any other.

The cultural amalgam of DeVotchka gives them the unique ability to artfully convey heritage and story (as good Folk should). Warmly paying homage to The Old Country (wherever it is) with their successful "How It Ends", and functioning as a contemporary audio-heirloom, DeVotchka has been dubbed 'the best little Grammy-nominated band you've never heard of'' by Rolling Stone Magazine. However, they will be heard of around the country through the end of March (dates below).
