For those about to rock to new Okkervil River album The Stand Ins next month, we present you a temporary, um, substitute in the meantime. The Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation, which last week brought us a "Take Away Show"-style acoustic video of Lykke Li's "Hanging High", here does much the same with first The Stand Ins single "Lost Coastlines". Will Sheff, seated on a picturesque bench, begins by strumming his battered guitar. "Looking deep inside, but I don't want to look so deep inside, kid," he sings, soon joined by another guitar and some light percussion. It's a subdued version of a song that has more of a Motown-via-Funeral feel on the studio recording, where it's a duet between Sheff and now full-time Shearwater man Jonathan Meiburg.
