There was never any real threat of "censorhip" of the Buju Banton/Beenie Man concert in Miami 10/31/09.  The James L. Knight Center, where the concert was held is owned by the City of Miami. LGBT people have the freedom of speech to ask the commission that runs the center to cancel the concert. The commission believing that they are required by law to rent the hall to anyone, refused to consider canceling the performance.

It would be interesting to see what would happen if a performer who calls for killing of African American persons was scheduled to perform at the James L. Knight Center.

The Florida ACLU is all wet about the censorship issue.

Buju Banton says the line "there is no end to the war between me and faggots" in a new anti gay song that he performs.  You can see this song as performed on 10/27/08 in Elizabeth, New Jersey at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-WEfFFsnwGA

Buju did not perform this new anti gay routine during his 2009 U.S. tour, but it is available on commercially sold DVDS.

Buju Banton performed "Boom Bye Bye" through 2004 (references on the web).

Buju Banton is as homophobic now as he was in 1988 when he wrote "Boom Bye Bye."

And, yes, Buju Banton's performance or the performance of any of the murder music performers is a human rights issue.
