[Hypeworthy] Church - Gold EP

Church is a raw, lo-fi pop trio made up of two brothers, Brandon and Richard Laws, and their friend Cristof Hendrickson. Inspired by The Beach Boys and Cristof's impressive collection of vintage synth systems, the dudes from Portland formed a band, released an EP, picked up some buzz, and are about to release another.

I've been listening to the Gold EP all morning. At just under 16 minutes, this tiny four-track picks up a lot of points for variation as the songs weave from sunny to shady, calm to crazy, and familiar to foreign. Each song was recorded in just one take--no overdubbing, no post production... just the sounds of three guys jamming in synchronous, blissful harmony. I really can't get enough, especially this song:
